Jumping cursor on E-Series systems

Problem:  Touchpads are being misdiagnosed as failing/faulty when the actual issue is required changes in the touchpad settings.

Resolution:  The Touchpad driver setup has options to keep the cursor from jumping while typing.  There is a simulation link below.

1.       Open the Touchpad Properties

2.      Touchpad Settings

3.      Enable the TouchCheck Option, set the slider to minimum.  (TouchCheck disables the touchpad while typing.  The slider adjusts the Delay Minimum is .5 seconds, and each notch is an additional .5 second delay)

So before replacing any hardware, make the adjustment in the touchpad settings.

Other options that may cause user problems are Draglock and Tap to Click under touch pad settings and The Scrolling and Zoom settings in the Touchpad Properties.
