Mcafee window blank.


On opening McAfee, the main window was blank. The issue was 29 days old, and the last tech Sent the mcAfee CD for reinstalling the software.

Please review the case below, and the steps performed to fix the issue:


Problem:
McAfee not working, Macromedia Flash not found.
Description:
JOURNALID: 082801SPHV Session Number: 22474389 DC Session ID: 55036550 ***McAfee not working, Macromedia Flash not found, cx contacted for same issue previously as well, cx was shipped CDs for Mcafee for uninstall/reinstall, cx was disconnected from last rep, after Mcafee was uninstalled, cx using same computer to chat, took DC after consulting l2, reinstalled mcafee, nogo, uninstalled using mcafe removal tool, rebooted, installed again, nogo, contacted mcafee chat, uninstaleld IE 8 after contacting Mcafee chat, issue resolved, set Windows updated to ask before doenloading and indtalling updates, heat check done on DC.
Solution:
Silent VA done, uninstaleld IE 8 after contacting Mcafee chat, issue resolved.

Microsoft is pushing IE 8 Beta 2 as an update for Vista. The issue was resolved by uninstalling IE 8 Beta. Also make sure that until Mcafee releases a patch, we will need to set Automatic updates to “Ask before downloading and installing updates”, and educate the cx to not install the IE8 update to avoid issue recurrence.
