Issue with installing Windows Updates for .NET Framework after OSRI

PROBLEM: I ran into an issue today that took a long time to resolve.  The issue is that after an OSRI, the client could not get the .NET Framework up to 3.5 SP1 to install.

Resolution: 

1.       Downloaded and ran the .NET Framework Cleanup Tool (You can download it here: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2008/08/28/8904493.aspx)

2.       Restarted the computer.  Downloaded and installed .NET Framework 3.5 wSP1 (You can download it here

3.       Downloaded and installed KB951847 (You can download it here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/951847 ) Updates to ,NET Framework

4.       Restarted Computer and completed all remaining Windows Updates other than .NET 4.0 (All installed without issue)
