Comcast Constant Guard Application causing keyboard typing issues (Types numbers regardless of Numlock)

Comcast Constant Guard security has been identified as creating an issue using the system keyboard.

Issue: customer said keyboard is typing numbers EXAMPLE:

·         Customer types - ABCDEFGHIJK and the display shows 12345678901

·         Customer types - AAAAAAAAAAA the display shows 12345678901

·         Customer types - ABCABCABCABC the display shows 123456789012  

After searching Google what we thought was “Keyboard only typing numbers in sequence, num lock OFF”. Disabling services and start up items did not resolve the issue. We began to look at application that where related to either antivirus or key loggers or identity applications in nature as suggested by multiple searches.

Finally, we discovered that Constant Guard supplied by Comcast was causing the issue after uninstalling the application.

Issue was resolved after Constant Guard was uninstalled with no other issues
