PROBLEM:
Just resolved an issue where a –N card would not conenct at 802.11N connections
speeds. It was limited to 802.11G 54 Mbs.
Card
was a Dell Wireless 1510 and end user had an 802.11n capable router.
Checked
the card settings and 802.11n was not listed as an option in the card
properties. Further troubleshooting revealed that the card connected at
118 Mbs when network was unsecured.
RESOLUTION:
Both BIOS and Driver were most current and updating them had made no
change. System had been running WPA security, changed security to WPA2
and the issue was resolved.
With
this card/router combination it seems WPA will not connect at –N speed, only
WPA2
