Windows update issue (Error code 80072EE2)

Error: Windows update failed to find updates, Error code 80072EE2

The issue occurs only on brand new computers (5BL37P1, FX248N1, F4C49M1) while performing the updates after initial configuration of the system. The system  is not fixed with the standard  steps like clearing windows distribution folder, Msconfig, Disabling the firewall, Updating the network driver/ PC Restore / OSRI / Updated websites in IE Security settings etc.

Reason:  This error is due to the windows update unable to connect to Internet even if the customer is able to browse to Internet and this is because the updates are referring to an internal server.

Resolution

To resolve the issue we have to edit the registry settings for the windows update and restart the system as suspected there is an issue with the image setting.

The settings that needs to be edited are given below

1.       Locate HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate.
2.       Change the (USEWUServer) digit entry under  AU folder  from 1 to 0.
3.       Restart the system.
4.       Initiate the windows update again

  1. Information for error code 80072ee2 are helpful. In any case, I support only 25dollarsupport.com which has fixed my computer at $25 only.
