Windows Live Mail failing to launch after installing KB2454826

Summary: As of the last Tuesday update, there were 2 issues reported.  The first issue is a stop error (0x7F or Stop: 0x0000007F) encountered after installing the update KB2454826.  The second issue reported is Windows Live Mail failing to launch after installing KB2454826.  This KB has been removed from Windows Update and Users should neither be offered this update, nor be able to discover it via WU by clicking “Check for updates”.  Microsoft is currently working on both issues.

Workaround: As KB2454826 is a non-security update, the workaround for these two issues is to uninstall the update KB2454826.  This update has been removed from Windows Update so customers should not be offered this update.  However, this update may be cached for install for some customers where it has been downloaded but not installed.
·         Blue screen or Stop: 0x0000007F issue: The workaround is to uninstall KB2454826 from Safe Mode and do a system restore.
·         Windows Live Mail issue: Uninstall the update from Control Panel, Programs and Features
·         Additional Guidance for Users:
o    Update all drivers on the system
o    Update anti-virus software and definitions or reinstall may be necessary
