1. Determine the type of Broadband
Connection the network is using. If it is a DSL connection the login and password for the
DSL connection are saved in the router, if you reset the router this
information is deleted and the Broadband connection is lost. You need to
know the Username and password, and the proper router configuration for DSL
BEFORE you reset the router and scrub that data.
2. Determine the type of telephone
connection their phone is using, because if they are using Voice over IP from their CABLE provider
resetting the router will drop your call.
3. Ensure that the End User knows
the network Name and any security password before resetting the ROUTER so you
can reset the security settings.
4. Ensure the End User you are
talking to has AUTHORITY to reset the modem (It is interesting when you get to

network from a neightbor.)
