Unable to turn on McAfee Firewall - Windows Firewall Service missing from Services.msc

We encountered an issue caused by Win7 Antivirus 2012 wherein it damaged the windows firewall.

Issue: Windows Firewall went missing from services.msc and in turn resulted in McAfee Firewall being turned off. McAfee Firewall turns off automatically even after turning it on multiple times, sfc/scannow did not yield any result.

Below are the steps that can resolve this issue:

1.        Download the registry file for Base Filtering Engine from http://www.mediafire.com/?317ea53a883288d
2.       Download the registry file for Windows Firewall from http://www.mediafire.com/?z6aw8j7997qa7j9  (If you face any difficulty to get the download working, you can right click on the download button and choose “Save target as” to download the file. In case the files are getting downloaded as text files then rename them to registry files with “.reg” as extension)
3.       Launch both the files and allow them to be added to registry.
4.       Restart the system.
5.       Open Registry Editor (regedit) and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\BFE.
6.       Right-click BFE and select Permissions.
7.       Click on Add, type Everyone and click Ok.
8.       Now click on Everyone, select Full Control under permission for users and click Ok.
9.       Open services.msc (Click Run and then type services.msc).
10.    Start Base Filtering Engine service.
11.     Start Windows Firewall Service.

This should help in resolving the issue.
