Num Lock Key Off at Login

If someone reports his num lock key to be turned off at login and he wants the num lock to be on when he logs in to windows 8, please try the following steps.

1:  Go to REGEDIT.

2:  Browse to HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Keyboard 

3: set   InitialKeyboardIndicators   (right click -> modify)  to a value of 2. 

In case cx wants help with other keys too viz. caps lock and scroll lock, here’s a list of values for  InitialKeyboardIndicators and their action….

0 - Turn all indicators Off (NumLock, CapsLock, ScrollLock)
1 - Turn CapsLock On
2 - Turn NumLock On
3 - Turn CapsLock and NumLock On
4 - Turn ScrollLock On
5 - Turn CapsLock and ScrollLock On
6 - Turn NumLock and ScrollLock On
7 - Turn all indicators On (NumLock, CapsLock, ScrollLock)
