Battery charging disabled in battery health meter / Battery Plugged in not charging

1.    Connect the system to the ac adaptor and remove the battery from the system.
2.    Open the device manager.
3.    Under batteries, there would be a device installed by the name Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery (Make sure that this is the exact device to be uninstalled and not the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Adaptor).
4.    Uninstall the above device from the device manager by right clicking on the device
5.    Then click on the scan for hardware changes button / click on Action, then scan for hardware changes.
6.    Restart the system, connect the battery to the system and check if it has been resolved.

7.    One more thing needs to be checked is that the BIOS of the system should have the adaptor warnings enabled as if the adaptor warnings have been disabled then the system would not be able to display the option of “AC adaptor type or wattage cannot be determined”.
