PROBLEM: Microsoft Word Icon was showing as a generic
shortcut icon (The link worked, just the Icon was changed from the original).
DISCUSSION: Issue occurs when there is a
corruption of the IconCache.db of the user profile.
RESOLUTION: We deleted the IconCache.db at:
%userprofile%\AppData\Local and even then ran the MS Fix it found at the
following link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2396571
rebooted the machine and all is well.
