System Reset Button on Inspiron 5423/14z

The Inspiron™ 5423/14z has an option of a reset button. In situations where the system freezes up, since the battery on this system is internal (FRU) and customers will not be able to remove the battery to reset the system or remove the flea power.
The reset button can used in scenarios should the system freeze up or not respond. The user just needs to use a paper clip or safety pin to reset the system by inserting the pointed end into the reset hole underneath the notebook.

• Resetting the system causes unsaved data to be lost.
• The reset option will not reset the notebook or operating system to factory settings.
• Pressing the reset button switches the system off.

MS Office Starter-CLICK2RUN Configuration Failure Error- after installing SYSTEM MECHANIC

Issue  :  “CLICK2RUN Configuration Failure” while launching MS Office Word Starter or Excel Starter.

Root Cause : The issue seems to be happening with System Mechanic modifying one of the Office Starter critical files

Resolution/ Workaround :

Step 1) Use the Safety net option in system Mechanic to undo the changes and restore the file

Step 2 ) Add an exclusion to System mechanic to exclude the following key that impacts Office Starter working

Here is the key to be excluded: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\SoftGrid\4.5\Client\AppF5

Individual Tools > Repair Problems > Registry Tuner, then choosing to run the tool in ‘custom’ mode, click next twice, and then under ‘Exclusions’ click add and then have them enter the data in the screenshot below, that will keep the problem from recurring for them in the short term.

Please  turn the ActiveCare option for the registry repair off after setting the exclusion.  That tool should only be run via custom mode once the exclusion is set up

Inspiron 2330 Webcam No Video

In case if you are using Dell Inspiron 2330 desktop and not getting any video when webcam is launched then check if the camera cover is open. The camera cover button is located on the top of the display just above the camera. The camera cover is open when the button is toggled to left side(position 1) and cover is shut when button is slided to right (position 2).
